3D Printing?

Quick and short post today but a very exciting one!

Eureka moment! How are we able to create shells of an instrument without purchasing instruments traditionally? As we have discussed, we aim to make a product which is easy to use - with technological advancement on the rise 3D printing is a perfect platform to incorporate in our product. Providing templates of instrumental shells digitally for users to print and use in conjunction with the app seems like the whole package! We would be able to email users the instrumental templates they desire to use which can then be printed at their fingertips.

At this point, obviously we are not able to 3d print an instrument shell so to come up with this particular prototype I was able to unstring a traditional made violin to acquire the shell. However, we have researched into 3d printing and there are platforms which offer this service - and with technology continually on the rise, we believe this would definitely be viable in the coming years.

Currently, there are already services which customers can use to 3d print instruments. For our prototype, we have decided to include a viable source of service. Check it out below!

FormLabs is a service for 3d printing.
