New things to think about...

It's exciting to see how our project is progressing - we've pitched our idea to James and there are definitely things we want to extend on, such as, building more templates (i.e various types of fingerboards for different sizes of string instruments)

New idea we wanted to play with is furthering the positions available on the fingerboard. These would include first position, second position and third position - moving the phone up and down the shell of the violin for example, would be able to emulate the feeling of "shifting" on a stringed instrument, yet still matching sound (pitch) to physical feeling on the instrument. To create the "shifting" movement, we have decided that a velcro could be used to show where the position is, where the phone can then be moved and stuck there. We've both agreed that this resource would be great to be used on an iPhone 6 as it fits nicely in the hand shape, although android phones would also work. We are hoping to make this app useable on both apple and android devices to cater for a wider range of accessibility.

Here's a snap shot of what the "fingerboard" would look like on the iPhone. Each button will sound according to the note once it is pressed by the fingers.

Check out a mock up of how the "fingerboard" would sound here!
